WAILUKU — Maui police say a 44-year-old driver died Thursday in a crash between two pickups on Pulehu Road in Kahului.
WAILUKU — Maui police say a 44-year-old driver died Thursday in a crash between two pickups on Pulehu Road in Kahului.
Police say a 22-year-old westbound driver from Waikapu crossed the centerline marked with double yellow lines east of Hansen Road and crashed into an eastbound pickup driven by Frederick Brittain II.
Brittain’s truck rolled. He was ejected and killed.
Police say the Waikapu driver was not injured.
Brittain was not wearing a seat belt and his truck was not equipped with air bags.
Police continue to investigate the crash and have not determined whether speed, drugs or alcohol were factors.
